Dance Shoot with @nico.dee.model

Nico Dee
This week I had my second dance themed shoot with @nico.dee.model at a new studio in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham called The Lampworks, a former factory with a couple of adjoining Victorian houses which is the first phase of what is to hopefully be a new creative hub, focused on filmmaking, photography, fashion and music.

As on my previous shoot all the images were made with the Fujifilm X-T3 and a Fujinon XF35mm f2 or XF50-140mm f2.8 lens. I have to be honest here and say that the 50-140mm is taking some getting used to. It’s a big and heavy lens compared to anything else I have owned and even with the OIS turned on I find I am still getting a larger percentage of blurred shots than is good on a client shoot. Maybe dance is not the best genre to be practicing with this lens.

That said I still managed to get a reasonable number of keepers some of which you can see below. Click on an image to start a slide show and get a larger version.

The final few images were taken in the Key Hill Cemetery which is opposite the studio. I had hoped to do a few dance shots here too but the ‘amazing’ British summer we are currently having (rain pretty much every day for the last couple of weeks) prevented this.
