An Afternoon Walk

Sometimes you need to force yourself out of the house to make images and, as a result, leave with low expectations. Such were my feelings last weekend during a short trip to Devon.

The weather in that part of the UK can quite literally turn from glowing, warm (for February) sunshine to dark clouds and penetrating rain in a matter of minutes. Sometimes this is a part of the charm of visiting such a place but other times, when you want to step outside to make some images, the opposite is true.

Mindful of this, and with not too much confidence of actually creating anything of note, I did decide to walk out for a few hours. Broadsands is my closest beach, a 2.5 mile walk away, and that was where I planned to go.

Sure enough pretty much at the precise time of my arrival at the beach the weak February sun gave way to a fine, driving, cold rain which drove me into the beachside bistro for a warming cup of coffee. Happily however, the weather turned just as quickly again leaving heavy, leaden clouds but with some sun flowing through the occasional breaks in between them.

Good skies in fact for getting some interesting cloudscapes.

Alll images shot with a Fujifilm X-Pro3 and 27mm F2.8 lens.
