Studio Shoot with Olympus 45mm f/1.8

Having recently purchased the highly recommended Olympus M.ZUIKO 45mm f/1.8 ‘portrait’ lens I thought I’d have a play with it in a studio to take some, er well, portraits. 45mm on micro four thirds equates to 90mm on the 35mm film equivalent so fairly and squarely in the range of a portrait lens. I gave myself the challenge of just shooting with this one lens for everything from head and shoulders to full length and pretty much achieved that. The only time I diverted from this was when I could not stand far enough back so used a slightly shorter (i.e. 3omm) focal length on my Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 zoom. All the pictures here are using the 45mm however. The model is Linzi Booth who I have shot on several occasions previously and the studio is the ever excellent Tip Top Photography in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham. Backgrounds in many of the shots are the Lastolite urban collapsible backgrounds.
