Birmingham’s Big Hoot

The Big Hoot, which is running up until 27th September, is billed as Birmingham “biggest ever art event”.  There are 89 giant owl sculptures, each one individually created by artists from Birmingham and beyond, on a trail running from the City Centre to Sutton Coldfield; Winson Green and Bournville and many places in between. All the owls have been sponsored by companies and organisations and at the end of the exhibition they will be auctioned to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

You can get a full trail map listing all the owls, the artists who created them as well as their locations here.

Here are a few of the owls I’ve captured over various visits to Birmingham, a vey small selection of the 89, but hopefully showing not only the great art work but also some of the locations in which they have been placed.
