Postcards from San Francisco

San Francisco is one of the great iconic cities of the world. I was lucky enough to spend a few days there this month, travelling with my son (see last image). Whilst not specifically a photographic outing I did want to make some images of the city I had lived close to 30 years ago whilst working in Silicon Valley. Of course, capturing images of any well known and highly photogenic place is always a bit of a challenge. What’s the point in just photographing the tourist sites that you can get on any postcard? At the same time if you are travelling on pleasure it’s nice to capture something that you can look back on in the years to come. I’m planning a post on photographic cliches shortly but in the mean time here’s a few of my postcards from San Francisco.
