David Bowie: 8 January 1947 – 10 January 2016

Like many people around the world today I woke up this morning to the news that David Bowie had died from cancer at the age of 69. Over the coming days and weeks tens of thousands of words and thousands of hours of television footage are going to be written and played dissecting and analysing his career and influence on generations of people, myself included.

I was fortunate enough to see David Bowie perform on three occasions. Twice in concert on his own and once as a surprise walk on support to Tina Turner at the National Exhibition Centre near Birmingham where they sang ‘Tonight’ which was written by Bowie. The video can be seen here but the final words of that song must surely be resonating with many people today.

I am gonna love you till the end
I will love you till I reach the end
I will love you till I die
I will see you in the sky
Tonight

Thanks David for making many of our lives so much better.
