A couple of weeks ago I had the great pleasure of shooting some of the amazing hat creations of Rose Collins Millinery. I first met Rose at this years Zimbabwe fashion show which I’ve covered in this blog post. Rose mentioned she had a new collection she wanted some images for so we arranged a shoot at SS Creative Photography near Birmingham.
As well as Rose and her hats we also had makeup by Guzala and the lovely Rouge Bald model who I have shot before.
The sign of a great shoot is that you always have trouble selecting which images you want to use. Given we all had our favourites I ended up editing quite a large number of pictures so have had plenty to choose from for this post. Here are a very small selection of the several hundred I shot during this session. I’ve selected two of each hat which I think shows off to the maximum their design, shapes and colour. All images were made using an Olympus OM-D E-M1 and the amazing M.Zuiko Digital ED 45mm f/1.2 PRO Lens. Lighting was using Elinchrom RX 2/4 D-Lites and a Rotalux softbox.
Finally here’s Rose herself being interviewed following her catwalk show at the Zimbabwe Fashion Showcase event in October.
