This years Zimbabwe Fashion Showcase (ZFS) event took place at Tramp London in September. You can see the shoot I did to create the publicity material here and below are just some of the many images I captured at the show itself.
Despite the somewhat difficult shooting conditions (more on how I went about lighting the event in a later post) I think I managed to capture most of the outfits from the five designers that were featuring their work at the event. See for yourself below.
Isabella is a self-taught couturier who launched her fashion house in 2015 and soon established Isabella Couture, Bridal and Pret A Porter.
Sandra is the founder of Sandylou Bridal Wear which uses the brand name Fleur Angelique.
Mother of three Chipo Musa founded Mimi Florence Designs two years ago after crocheting for friends and family for some 18 years.
Millicent Poku is the 27 year old founder of Millybee Fashions who started designing and making clothes as a hobby and began her label five years ago.
Samuel is a London based designer from Uganda and founder of the fashion house Gveny. You can read more about Samuel’s story here.
The Zimbabwe Fashion Showcase is the brainchild of Chiedza Ziyambe whose tireless work over the last several years has ensured the talented African designers get a well deserved forum to show off their amazing designs. Dawn and some of her team are in this last series of photographs.
Finally all the models who you see here (and the MUA’s and hairdressers who you don’t) did a wonderful job during a very long day. I hope I have all their accounts on Instagram:
MUAs and Hairdressers:
